Smiley Hall at the University of Tampa includes 130 student rooms and houses up to 260 students. The residence hall has a recreation center on the first and second floor, a lounge, a common area, a full kitchen, laundry room, and a full study room.
The renovations to this facility included a total replacement of the HVAC system, window replacements, and design changes to the laundry area, kitchen and lounge area. Construction for this project had to happen within a short time frame over the summer to ensure students could move in prior to the next semester. This project started as a HVAC replacement project but ended with a scope that was much greater than originally expected. The expected deliver date did not change, and we were able to provide what was needed and still meet the original deadline.
