Rambam Health Center

1651 Coney Island Avenue

Mancini worked with Rambam Health on the development of an expansion clinic to create a welcoming, functional, and thoughtfully designed behavioral health clinic.

This new 6,000 sf clinic was designed to reflect the client’s commitment to mental health within the Brooklyn community while prioritizing privacy, safety, and comfort for both patients and staff. The program included therapy rooms, administrative offices, a staff lounge, conference and reception areas, and other supportive spaces designed to foster a calm, therapeutic atmosphere.

From the outset, our team worked closely with the client to explore multiple layout options, with a focus on maximizing therapy room count within the available footprint. This collaborative process ensured the design aligned with behavioral health standards and clinical needs, while also maintaining a sense of continuity with the adjacent Rambam facility.

Our scope included full on-site surveying, programming, test fits, schematic and design development, finish selections, furniture selection, demolition documentation, construction drawings, coordination, and construction administration.

Design elements include warm woods, bright solid surface finishes, textured wood wall panels with integrated lighting in both linear and curved format. In addition, other large and decorative light fixtures were placed at specific circulation points above the reception desk, at intersections of corridors and at the glass rail ramp leading to the pediatric area. Bright colors and floor designs accentual the individual pediatric rooms.
