Honoring The Vision—Mancini Named Finalist at Innovators Forum Awards

Innovation doesn’t happen overnight. It takes vision, hard work, dedication, and plenty of trial and error. Over the last few years, we’ve partnered with our clients to create, develop, and integrate new processes that not only better communicate design to enhance decision-making but also catapult our industry into the future. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been named as a Finalist as part of the inaugural Commercial Observer 2019 Innovator Awards in the Construction and Design Firm category.

“Rethinking how design gets done through technology has been a huge undertaking for Mancini, and that stems to both our teams and our clients,” explains Michael Kipfer, Principal and Director of Research & Development. “It’s exciting to know that our peers in the industry are starting to take notice of our vision.”

More than three years ago, Michael founded Mancini’s Research & Development arm which takes root in the firm’s state-of-the-art Design Lab. What started in a former office exploring a couple of emerging technologies like 3D Printing and Virtual reality has blossomed into a full-blown division of the company. Now staffed with full-time developers (who also happen to be educated in Architecture), the team works tirelessly to improve upon and integrate new technologies, and even develop new ones to further the built environment.

“Since we’ve integrated technologies like Virtual Reality into our new 360 Design sessions, we’ve had incredible feedback from our clients,” says Christian Giordano, President. “Recognition like this from Commercial Observer proves that while we still have a way to go to achieve our lofty vision, we’re headed in the right direction.”

The 2019 Innovator Awards capped off the inaugural Commercial Observer Innovator’s Forum on December 3, 2019. The event focused on innovations, beyond just current trends and technologies, that will keep New York City’s building and real estate industry looking to the future.
