New York State’s St. Francis Hospital’s Heart Center, the only specialty designated cardiac care center, implemented a major modernization project on its 15-acre suburban campus on the north shore of Long Island.

St. Francis Hospital’s Heart Center Additions

New York State’s only specialty designated cardiac care center completed this major modernization on its 15-acre suburban campus on the north shore of Long Island. St. Francis has now gained national recognition for its astonishing success rate for high-acuity level patients and cutting-edge surgical techniques. This project adds 14 operating rooms, three cardiac cath labs, 40 intensive care beds, 160 acute care beds, new central sterilization and right-sized support services throughout the existing facility, including five additional cardiac ORs. The project includes the addition of 155,000 gsf of new construction, 64,000 gsf of renovations, a 345 space below grade parking addition and upgrades to the central utility plant.

Principal medical and technical planning was performed by proposed Principal-in-Charge Marc Goldstein when employed at Perkins Eastman Architects and LSGS Architects.
