Arlo NoMad Hotel
Arlo Hotels is an exciting new hospitality brand that Simon Baron Development and KSNY brought to New York City in 2016—and Mancini was on the ground floor of its roll-out, serving as architect of record for one the brand’s locations at 11 East 31st Street. Informed by the spontaneous, carefree lifestyles one finds in European hostels, the 130,000-square-foot, 31-story hotel features 250 rooms, flexible meeting spaces, a full-service kitchen, cafe, and rooftop bar.
Brought on during the early construction phases, we were charged with addressing an array of coordination and design challenges, and successfully brought the project back on schedule. We also provided strategic design interventions to ensure the proper fit of the building within its small footprint, and value engineered materials that reinforced the design’s premise. These refinements, when combined with the diligent coordination of all trades to make the densely interwoven spaces buildable, allowed us to reconcile Simon Baron Development’s design and budget goals.
