Green Roof Amenity at 701 Westchester Avenue

White Plains, NY

Mancini Duffy recently teamed up with Normandy Real Estate Partners on the design and installation of a green roof and amenity area at 701 Westchester Avenue in White Plains, New York.

701 Westchester Avenue Features

The scope included over 60,000 square feet of new roofing with 15,000 square feet dedicated to a new extensive green roofing system complete with private flower gardens, shared tables and chairs, and canopies for shade. The site features a unique location, placing itself directly adjacent to a 4-story boulder hillside which produces a fall-away lot. Two bridges reach across to connect the top of the hill and the roof where two elevator penthouses bring tenants to their respective offices within the building. The renovation included a new rain-screen cladding system and canopy to help mark the entry of the building. Other features included IPE wood pavers, louver screens to hide mechanical equipment, solar canopies, stainless steel handrails, integrated sprinklers, and decorative gravel.
