Veronica Soltysik
Senior Interior DesignerWhere were you born?
Red Bank, NJ
Where is your favorite travel destination?
Hard to narrow this down, but I’d say Italy because of the historical architecture, beautiful landscape and of course the food. I can still smell the flowers in Capri and the lemons on the amalfi coast…
What’s something you’d still love to learn?
How to surf. Snowboarding is a close second.
What do you hope to see in the future in the world of architecture and design?
The integration of psychology more. Intentionally designing spaces with the end goal being to positively affect each occupant’s mental health.
When did you know you wanted to be an architect/designer?
Although I didn’t know it at the time, I would say this started when I was a child helping my parents renovate our house and work on cars. Once I got to college and was exploring programs, I realized that Interior Design combined my love of art, problem solving, construction, and all things technical.
What is something you collect?
Funky rocks and seaglass
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Listen to understand, not to respond.
What is your favorite hobby?
Photography. Every picture captures a fleeting moment that you may not remember if never taken, and what seems like the ordinary now may be a sweet memory you wish to hold in the future.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I can identify songs after only hearing a few chords.
Any other interesting fact about you?
I have a love for cars, hiking, and adventure.
