What do you hope to see in the future in the world of architecture and design?

Truly emphasized the importance of who we are designing for and focused not only on the final output of the design but also on the journey.

When did you know you wanted to be an architect/designer?

I was a late bloomer! I knew I wanted to be in the art field as I fell in love with pottery, but I was curious if I was good enough for it. I enrolled in Interior design as I love the tactile experience of creating things/spaces. In my junior year, I started to fall in love with the studio classes, but it really affirmed when I first entered the space that I helped to design and saw the reaction of the end users.

What is something you collect?

Nothing. Suppose I would love to open an animal organization to rescue dogs, but I am not sure if that falls under collecting 🙂

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Always try to see from others’ perspective! Empathy!

What is your favorite hobby?

1. I used to make jewelry, but it has been a while since I have done that.

2. I am not sure if I can say it’s a hobby, but I love watching my daughter compete and ride her horse. Being around horses and taking care of them is very therapeutic.

Who inspires you the most in your field?

Younger, aspiring designers who I have the pleasure to get to know and work with.

Do you have any hidden talents?

Nah… Nothing hidden. I love to cook.

Any other interesting fact about you?

My mother is a well-known actress in Korea, and I wanted to follow in her footsteps, but she squashed that dream. Whenever my family and I return to Korea, we will be on TV shows with my mom.
