Technical Designer

When did you know you wanted to be an architect/designer?

I went to school to be an engineer; however, I quickly discovered that I was more interested in the experiences we get from our built environment because it is more of a creative outlet. The blending of aesthetic experience with technical knowledge attracted me to architecture.

What’s your favorite travel destination?

I think my most memorable trip was a month in Spain during university. We started in Madrid and circled almost the entire country, including a pit stop in Portugal, before finishing in Barcelona.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

It takes the same amount of time to do something right as it does to do it wrong, so do it right the first time. Of course, easier said than done, but I believe if you’re going to do something, you should commit to doing it well.

What is something you collect?

I’ve started loosely collecting pins. To mix it up, I like to add them to an outfit, whether on a hat, lapel, or backpack. They also serve as reminders of places I’ve visited or things I’ve seen.
