Christine Cameron
Interior DesignerWhere were you born?
Long Beach, California, but I grew up in Winter Park, FL.
Where is your favorite travel destination?
Australia! The happiest culture, freshest food, friendly people, diverse architecture, stunning beaches, and perfect weather – it is worth every minute of the long flight to get there!
What’s something you’d still love to learn?
I speak a bit of Spanish and French, and I would love to become fluent in both of them.
Describe Mancini’s company culture in one word?
Welcoming
What do you hope to see in the future in the world of architecture and design?
I hope to see health and well-being at the forefront of everything we design – there is a lot of room to grow in advancing the spaces we spend every single day in.
When did you know you wanted to be an architect/designer?
I used to work in Fashion Design, and in my time researching how customers reacted to our products in stores, I found that consumer behavior and shopping habits were more driven by the store itself than the product in it. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to have a hand in designing those spaces!
What is something you collect?
I like to get a Christmas ornament for every place I travel to and write the year that I visited on the bottom – our tree is like a travel journal that just keeps on growing each year!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
My mom always says, “If it won’t matter in a year, don’t stress about it.” It’s a great reminder to not sweat the small stuff and focus on the bigger picture.
What is your favorite hobby?
Puzzles! Jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, number games – anything that makes me think.
Who inspires you the most in your field?
Any designer who is fresh out of school – they are filled with unique ideas and haven’t yet been trained to scale their ideas back to be more buildable or affordable. It’s great to embrace that kind of creativity.
