The contrast we cultivated between refinished concrete, glass, and recycled wood provides a warm and crisp environment for Dr. Martin O’Mally’s modern orthopedic practice. Splashes of color are introduced in the carpet tiles beneath the reception desk and on one wall of each exam room. A glass-enclosed administrative area allows exterior light to pass into the connecting clinical corridor and onto the opposite wall, lined with horizontal wood planks and highlighted from above with continuous LED cove lighting. The MRI room is situated off its own medical corridor, and the entrance to the doctors’ offices is discreetly ‘knifed’ into the wood wall, clad in the same wood and mounted on blind hinges.
