New York Methodist Hospital Renovation

Mancini was hired to masterplan the development of two new EP Labs in their existing cardiology department. Previously, the hospital had only one EP Lab. Future projections of EP cases caused the hospital to urgently consider the construction of one new additional room for a total of two EP Labs. In addition, the existing room is too small and the equipment outdated. Therefore, it was concluded that two new state-of-the- art rooms should be constructed.

Further development of this project required the relocation of an existing Nuclear Scan Suite to free up room for the new EP Labs. One larger room will contain the Philips Allura Bi-Plane while the other smaller room will be for the Single Plane imaging. Other features will include full video integration and ceiling-mounted equipment booms, anesthesia booms, and state-of-the-art LED surgical light booms. A centralized control room allows viewing of cases form one main position, and for utilities to be centered around one area for ease of maintenance and service.
