New Jersey Hospital Association Renovation

With this renovation of their offices at 760 Alexander Road in Princeton, New Jersey, we’re giving the New Jersey Hospital Association (“NJHA”) the kind of facility in keeping with a challenging environment for the healthcare industry.

Like companies in any number of industries these days, NJHA is keen to attract the best talent, and in a highly competitive job market, a workplace environment is often a dealmaker—or a dealbreaker. And the old-fashioned space NJHA had, with its high walls, cubicles and private offices, and little penetration, just wasn’t going to cut it. That’s why we completely modified the layout to situate most conferencing, private offices, and huddle rooms around the core and place workstations around much of the perimeter. This new layout gives the rank-and-file NJHA employee the lion’s share of sunlight access, helps create more collaborative areas, and fosters better communication between departments.

Amenities were upgraded, too. The basement gym is being expanded to about twice the size, allowing for a private syn classroom, an open workout space with treadmills, exercycles, Peloton machines, and free weights.

The building entrance also reflected the new attitude. Employees have their own separate entrance through an expanded pantry; clients and other visitors enter through a lobby that leads directly to an existing two-story conference center. This conference center, too, was renovated to provide a more sought-after meeting space that could increase revenue for the client.

Finally, the facade is also being renovated, in part to allow more light into the interior and to activate the New Jersey Hospital Association brand and communicate it to the outside world. Our work for this 56,000-sf project began in July 2021, and is scheduled to be complete in October 2022.
