The goods of a senior project manager, if you got them

As an Interiors Project Architect at Mancini, you are a part of a dynamic and evolving team. Putting your experience into action, you will work with the project design lead(s), senior technical designer or Technical Director, Project Manager and supporting junior staff to conceptualize and execute
commercial interior project designs, participating in all phases of the project but taking on the lead in Design Development, Construction Documentation and Construction Administration phases. Acting as a keystone to the full project and consultant teams’ coordination, you are responsible for ensuring that the design intent and project as a whole are realized in a feasible, high-quality constructible end-result.

A day in the life of a senior project manager

  • So let’s get down to it. This job comes with some expectations, and this is us putting it all out there.
  • Organize, complete and track multiple projects simultaneously by working with your project managers and studio leader
  • Produce visualizations, drawings, details and specifications that a contractor can accurately price and build from, at a standard beyond the minimum
  • Prepare a full working construction set for commercial interiors projects of various types, which could include retail and office fit-outs, retail and office white-box, interior common spaces for commercial and multi-unit residential projects alike, or multi-unit residential interior fit-outs
  • Coordinate architectural design with consultant building systems and equipment
  • Design and produce details for architectural building assemblies and complex designed systems
  • Put together specifications outlines and guide the production of a specification book
  • Assist the Project manager in managing the bid & permitting process, providing input, creating and managing the bid & permitting process, providing input on contractor bids and quotes, answering RFIs and preparing addenda
  • Produce 3D Visualizations in addition to technical drawings to help communicate designs
  • Manage the project budget through research and a working knowledge of current material and labor costs

Relevant experience and mindset

We value people who are:

      • ­­­A bachelor’s degree in architecture, or more
      • Around 5 years of experience working in commercial interiors projects in a significant capacity, both new construction as well as major building renovation.  Experience should also include robust experience with producing and submitting filings, as well as supporting interior designers in design phases. Experience in a Project Architect role for multi-family and apartment building development type projects is also a plus, as our interior architects often work across both project types, when working with our developer based clients
      • A professional license in any US state as a Registered Architect, or active progress in completing IDP hours and ARE testing, is strongly preferred. However any candidate with strong technical experience described above will still be considered
      • Abilities with CAD, REVIT, Adobe Creative Cloud or similar (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and Microsoft Word & Excel
      • Good understanding of Building Codes and ADA guidelines is required. Experience with NYC Zoning Codes is a plus
