When did you know you wanted to be an architect/designer?

14ish? I was very fortunate to attend a Junior High School that offered a “Mechanical Drawing” class as an elective. I remember the first time sitting behind a drafting table with pencils, T-squares, triangles, and other various equipment, and thinking how cool it all was. I was hooked.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Three rules to live by: Be yourself, don’t be afraid of anyone, and above all, be kind.

Who inspires you the most in your field?

My first employer, Costas Kondylis. He was my mentor, and he became a great friend. I still rely on the skills and lessons he taught me about design, our profession, and life.
