Arianna Bazan

Interior Designer

Where were you born?

I was born in Hackensack, NJ. However, my entire family came here in the 60’s from Peru which has made me hold my cultural roots close.

Where is your favorite travel destination?

I recently travelled to Italy and the South of France this summer, and I absolutely fell in love. I think I’ve realized that it’s European summers and Caribbean winters. I just love to be near the ocean.

What’s something you’d still love to learn?

I’d love to learn another language, maybe Arabic.

What are some of the Mancini projects you’re working on?

I’ve been working mainly on Lufthansa JFK lounge and MTA Pitkin Avenue.

Describe Mancini’s company culture in one word?

Welcoming!

What kind of projects do you want to work on (or technology you want to use) in the future?

I would really love to continue working on aviation, but hospitality is something I loved working on in school.

What do you hope to see in the future in the world of architecture and design?

I hope to continue to see more sustainable and biophilic architecture. Since COVID-19, I feel like most people have refrained from going outside so I would love to see designs that brought people back outside again.

When did you know you wanted to be an architect/designer?

I had a CAD highschool teacher that showed me how to work on SketchUp in 2018. It was the only software the school had at that time, but I managed to create a studio apartment and present it to the class. I would also say that I was always a creative person. My family automatically assigned me as the fashion designer and interior designer in the home and would call me to pick ties or rearrange the living room.

What is something you collect?

I love fashion so I would say I have a pretty extensive closet, clothes, shoes, purses.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Even if you are unsure about what you are saying, be confident and no one will ever know.

What is your favorite hobby?

I really love to try new cafes, fruity drinks, matchas, iced coffees. Anytime I go out with friends, we’ll most likely stop by a café and get a sweet treat.

Who inspires you the most in your field?

I am fascinated by all of Zaha Hadid and all of her architectural buildings.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I think I have a really good British accent. I can switch into it at any given moment.

Any other interesting fact about you?

I would really love to travel all the seven wonders of the world.
