As Lead Architect for TSX Broadway, Mancini acted as Executive Architect for the 661-room Tempo by Hilton Hotel, a global premiere of Hilton’s latest lifestyle brand. Positioned above the historic theatre, this innovative hospitality concept caters to the contemporary traveler, complementing the vibrant atmosphere of Times Square, while focusing on well-being, setting a new standard of hospitality to this iconic location.
TSX Broadway materialized through meticulous teamwork involving 45 consultants, 15 authorities, and 5 client stakeholders. The project involved the dismantling of an existing hotel, preservation of the iconic Palace Theatre on the eastern site, and development of one-of-a-kind cantilevering performance stage through TSX Entertainment. Capitalizing on the monolithic structure of the theater, we executed a sophisticated maneuver, elevating the theatre an impressive 31 feet from its original position. This not only granted sidewalk access to millions of visitors but also facilitated the integration of a new wrap-around LED screen. Simultaneously, this strategic relocation liberated valuable ground floor space, enabling the construction of a novel retail, food & beverage, and entertainment podium below.
