Pediatrics Subspecialty Group, NYP

New York, NY

New York Presbyterian Hospital hired Mancini Duffy to consolidate disparate pediatric subspecialties into one 19,000 square foot floor of the Hemsley Tower. The design called for the subspecialties, including Genetics, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Child Development, Allergy/Pulmonary/Immunology, Neurology, Endocrinology, and Gastroenterology, to be divided into two independent clinical pods. Each pod includes a nursing station, 8 exam rooms, and doctors’ consult areas. The Vital Signs area and support space is central and accessible to both pods. A colorful, sophisticated, palette of materials was used to enrich the various spaces. The waiting area features individual seating areas with murals and raised ceilings. A picture gallery corridor leads north to the administrative wing, which includes doctor’s offices, PA’s, nursing offices and staff support.
