National design firm expands, adds regional office in Phoenix

National design and technology firm Mancini Duffy has expanded with a new regional office in metro Phoenix.

New York City-based Mancini is a full-service firm that specializes in architecture, planning and interior design in various commercial real estate sectors.

Its new office, the firm’s sixth across its national footprint, is expected to offer a range of architectural and interior design services with support from the company’s technology such as a real-time project visualization and interactive client collaboration platform.

A pair of former Gensler directors in Phoenix, Hannah Hackathorn and Ben Ayers, have been tapped to lead Mancini’s new Valley office as co-directors and will be expanding their team in the coming months. Mancini’s new Southwest office, which opened this week, is located at 7014 E. Camelback Road in Old Town Scottsdale.

Hackathorn, who previously worked for Mancini in New York City, has also worked for Studios Architecture and Unispace and has 24 years of experience in leading design disciplines.

“Our focus will be on creating an authentic experience for our clients infused with our New York City mindset and speed-to-market approach designing spaces that align with their goals and visions,” Hackathorn said in a statement.

Ayers brings more than 22 years of experience including serving as a chair for the planning and zoning board for the city of Mesa and as a guest critic, lecturer and studio instructor at Arizona State University, University of Colorado and the University of Arizona. He also previously worked for Shepley Bulfinch, DLR Group and SmithGroup.

Christian Giordano, Mancini’s president and co-owner, said the new Phoenix office represents an “exciting chapter” in the company’s growth.

“With Ben and Hannah’s leadership, we look forward to building strong client relationships and delivering outstanding projects that enhance the built environment in the greater Southwest region,” Giordano said in a statement.

Its other regional offices are in Seattle, West Palm Beach, Florida and Millburn and Red Bank in New Jersey.
