Jenna Ciano, RA
When did you know you wanted to be an architect?
Officially – when I was about 10 years old. I used to hide a marble composition pad behind my textbooks in class and draw houses (exterior AND interior) during class. I got sidetracked in high school because I was too nervous to submit a portfolio for college. Luckily, I found my way and enrolled at Parsons during the summer of 2008, where I met Nora!
What’s the biggest highlight of your career?
Whenever someone tells me they saw a completed project I worked on. My favorites are an adaptive re-use in the Pacific Palisades and a L’Occitane store in Miami Beach.
Do you have any hidden talents?
You don’t want to mess with me in kickball – I’m pretty good at it.
What’s one accomplishment you’re most proud of?
I’ve completed 4 marathons! But, I recently got my architecture license, so that’s up there.
What’s the most unusual item in your desk drawer?
I have a little bottle of honey from Lithuania I use on special occasions.
Any other interesting fact about you?
Before grad school, I was really into running and cycling. I’ve completed multiple century bike rides (that’s 100 miles!). Now that I’m finished with my ARE, I hope to get back into it.
